Nextwave Multimedia wins the Intel AppUp Developer Grand Prize Award in the “Most Innovative Application Category” for the app “Comics Creator”. The winner of $60,000 was announced at Barcelona, Spain at the World Mobile Congress on 14th February, 2011. Nextwave is also the winner of the “Nokia's 2010 Calling All Innovators Contest” for the same app.

The Intel AppUp Developer Challenge is a world wide competition held by Intel the worlds leading chip manufacturer for net book app developer. The 'Challenge' rewards the creators of apps that deliver the most creative and engaging experiences for netbooks, tablets, and more. This year the competition had more than 100 entrants.

'Comics Creator' allows the user to create his or her own comic story, cartoons and photo journals by using a simple and easy to follow application. For artists it gets even better, they can upload sketches, doodles, etc, right away. The app provides the user with a large array of emotive characters, styles of illustration and dialogue box. The user can even save their favourite comic creations in the PC and share them with friends through networking sites, blogs etc.
