Microsoft launches Gears of War 3 game for Xbox 360

Microsoft India launched the much-anticipated Gears of War 3 for Xbox 360, the final installment of one of the most-awarded sci-fi third person shooter video game and single most popular franchises in the history of Xbox.

Developed by Epic Games, Gears of War 3 is an engaging and harrowing thriller of hope, survival and brotherhood. There are two different editions Standard and Limited which is at an estimated retail price of Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 3499 respectively. The game will also be available for multiplayer action on Xbox Live. Gears of War 3 is one of the most innovative shooting games of the century which features the deepest and most expansive multiplayer experience, delivering genre-defining action across an arsenal of competitive and cooperative modes, including versus multiplayer, four-player campaign co-op, Horde 2.0 and Beast mode. New recruits will enjoy the finely balanced game play and accessible game types, which allow anyone to instantly jump into the action. 

The earlier two edition of the game have already sold more than 12 million copies worldwide, and the launch of Gears of War 3 is expected to spawn another. “With this much-awaited launch, the legendary Gears of War series comes’ to an end, and the entire experience has been made very memorable with –an enthralling cinematic history and unparallel game play with an explosive multiplayer action. We have also pushed the envelope for stunning visuals and the game has improved graphics, animation and lighting. Winning awards like the Best 360 Game award 1UP Best of E3, The Destructoid Best of E3, Gamespot’s most anticipated videogame and it also got nominated for Best Shooter, Best multiplayer and Best in the show in E3’2011 the game itself has become one of the most memorable and celebrated sagas in video games.

The new edition of the game ‘Gears of War 3’ include a modified version of Gridlock, the legendary map that defined multiplayer game play in Gears 1 and Gears 2. It also features graphical enhancements and new weapon spawns, the new Gridlock is set in the eerie darkness of night, forcing you to stay on your toes and work as a team as you stalk your opponents from the shadows.

Thanks to the participation and feedback of more than 1.2 million fans in the spring’s public multiplayer beta, Gears of War 3 now also features improved versions of Old Town, Thrashball and Trenches Maps. These maps have been enhanced based on player behavior to offer a more balanced and enjoyable experience for veterans and rookies alike. For example, Trenches features a new combat area that changes the dynamic of the firefights, and similar modifications have been made to Thrashball to better prevent spawn camping and level the playing field.

GOW3 includes a Casual Versus Multiplayer playlist where new players will have the option to compete against one another. Based on massive amounts of data and testing, Epic can detect certain game play benchmarks and skill levels to maintain a safe arena where beginners can hone their skills, have fun, and prepare for advanced skill level lobbies.
