*Introduction* 9 / 10
Sucker Punch is back to continue its legendary superhuman game
character Cole MacGrath. Some background on the game! Cole MacGrath a
messenger from the first game blasted with the full force of a
mysterious device called a Ray Sphere. This blast reaction was a new
Cole with super-human strength and the ability to hold and manipulate
electric power. Now just imagine the possibilities.
Gameplay 9 / 10
From a gameplay point of view, in a nut shell Cole MacGrath has to destroy the super villan The Beast.
This massive humanoid monster, is seen in Empire City and Cole is forced to escape the city with Zeke and NSA agent Lucy Kuo.
They escape to New Marais, a small city, where Agent Kuo has setup a
meeting with Dr. Sebastian Wolfe, a brilliant scientist who has
developed a device to defeat The Beat called the RFI.
Cole needs sufficient power to activate the RFI given to him by Dr.
Wolfe, (a shiny round plasma ball which vanishes into his pocket) the
only weapon against The Beast. Cole can achieve this by consuming ‘Blast
Cores’ found in the missions undertaken by the player.
So you're playing a mutated super hero who has the ability to
manipulate electricity and use it as a weapon. Its common sense now that
he needs to load up on power to use power. This is the interesting
part, he can take power from almost anything that has power running
through it. Car Batteries, Electric lines, lamp posts etc. Get the
picture? Supply is abundant. Too bad for the ingame PWD. they'll be
wondering where the losses creep in from.
You have to move around the game world in search of six blast cores
to power the device. Avoiding him from doing so is the local Militia and
the local mutant population known as “The Corrupted”.
This game is an open world map and as you move around the city, many
areas are opened up as more and more missions are completed. Along with
the main story missions, you can also see side missions. Completing
these side missions is purely optional. But it elps in weapon unlocks so
dont ignore these missions all together.
Sucker Punch has a karma system that tracks your actions within the
city good or bad. You are free to make your own choice as to which path
you want to go down. Each path will reveal different missions and powers
as the game progresses.
Graphics 9 / 10
The game's graphics are great great. There is always a lot amount
going on in the world but the game always manages to run smoothly
without any issues. It is truly impressive that they managed to keep it
this way considering the amount of the world both in length and height.
The camera view does take a little time to get used to. The textures
in the game are pretty good, characters are well textured and designed.
The interesting part is the depiction of use of electricity. Im a fan
of the way Cole charges his batteries. The glow and lightning effects
are stunning. Even when Cole skates over electric lines the animation
and effects are superb. Another neglected department is architecture,
but here the buildings are amazingly real and well made. they look neat.
Sound 9 / 10
The music score is made to suit the game and soundt apt. The endding
credits music suites the mood of the closing moments incredibly well
and really great music for credit roles. Sound effects sound extremely
real and help the feeling that Cole’s powers are real and effective. The
voice acting for the game characters is pretty good considering how
difficult it is to keep the player engaged and no wayto excape the story
movies in between. The dialogue is crisp and carries the games plot
forward well.
Fun factor 9 /10
Guys if ur a gamer who loves to spend a lot of time playing, this is
the game for you. Shooting electric bombs, using Zeke's invention is a
lot of fun jumping around taking down militia or zombies.
Be prepared to use a little bit of tact. Run away charge up and then
attack. Its great fun climbing up buindings, looking for purple shards,
provoking the militia and hide away and attack again when they are not
looking. lots of fun.
Transportation is not a problem at all in the game, just jump onto a
power line and skate to the other end. if you feel you need to jump off
just jump and when you're about to land you can hover before u land. So
cool!
*Replayability 9 / 10
The game can go on for quiet a while, you can play the game straight
through without any side missions. But its fun doing the side missions
and exploring the place. I'm sure this game can be played again and
again, unlock weapons, different difficulty modes. So enjoy it!
My verdict PLAY.
